More Great Experiences at the NJDEP

JUNE 5, 2015  STEMCivics was privileged to be the guest of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection at their HQ last week. Throughout the day, scientists and researchers led interactive and hands-on workshops that the PURPLEfect people won't soon forget.

The hands-on component was particularly memorable, as the best kids ever were afforded the unique opportunity to get up close and personal with fossilized excrement and dead bugs.

In addition, workshops focused on geographical information systems and an interactive game in the form of "Jeopardy," in which students' knowledge of environmental conditions was put to the test.

STEMCivics and the NJDEP are planning a monthly series of projects for 2015-16, which will give students additional opportunities to study environmental matters.
